Presteigne Charter’s Advantage At Tennis Doubles Up

A specialist in delivering broadcast solutions worldwide is celebrating their on going and successful relationship with both Roland Garros and the Wimbledon Tennis Championships.
These Grand Slam tournaments may be played on different surfaces and in different countries, but Presteigne Charter always provide the same level of high quality service, equipment and broadcast solutions that both events demand.
Supplying a wide array of equipment for the French Open Tennis Championships, which came to an exciting finale in Paris earlier this month, Presteigne Charter were contracted to Rights Holder, Tennis Channel, and via sub license agreement, ESPN and NBC. In addition, the company was also contracted to Japan Pay TV Broadcaster WOWOW and Input Media who provided the International Super Signal and daily highlights programme.
The network set up for all clients utilised production and playback servers and was based around EVS and IP Director. In addition, a Sony MVS8000G and Grass Valley Kalypso mixer was also deployed for the Tennis Channel alongside 23 tape decks of varying varieties and capabilities. For WOWOW, a three camera studio was provided using three Sony HDC-1500 Camera Channels. An EVS set up consisted of three six Channel XT[2]'s. Presteigne Charter supplied Input Media with a master control room, further to the EVS production and playback servers, production gallery, vision mixers and Avid post-production systems.
Following on from the French Open, Wimbledon has now opened its doors to the tennis champions. Presteigne Charter's resources have been swiftly transported from Paris to the heart of London in time for the first rounds.
Once again WOWOW and the Tennis Channel are recipients of Presteigne Charter's experience and resources at this tournament. Channel 9 and IMG, which incorporates Fox, also takes advantage of Presteigne Charter's equipment at Wimbledon this year.
This is the first year that Presteigne Charter was contracted by the Tennis Channel for this Grand Slam tournament. Although a smaller set up was required for Wimbledon than that for the French Open, the logistics are no less. Once again a network set up, based around EVS and IP Director is required, further to a Grass Valley Thomson Kayak Mixer and a Pro-bel Sirius 96 x 96 HD-SDI Video Router. In addition, four Sony HDC-1500 HD Colour Camera Channels and a Sony PDW-700CB HD XDCam camcorder are also to be provided.
Presteigne Charter has been awarded a six year contract with The Tennis Channel to provide broadcast solutions to both Roland Garros and Wimbledon. 2010 is also the first year of a three year contact with Input Media at the French Open.
