Gee Broadcast show Instant Editing at IBC

Gee Broadcast will use the opportunity of IBC 2002 to show the benefits of Instant Editing.
This concept is the result of extensive developments in Integration based around the Geevs server family and with Incite editors.
Requirements to improve the immediacy of programming now demand ever-faster production techniques and better workflow. Historically material always had to be recorded or digitised before it could be edited. Now we can provide access to material while it is still being recorded. This material can thus be edited and played back within seconds of the start of recording. This ability to access material while it is being recorded even from multiple workstations is Instant Editing.
With Instant Editing material can be accessed by other Geevs channels, either in the same chassis or via a GaSSS SAN system. Geevs servers can thus put together highlight clips and select material while recording is in process.
Although Instant Editing is based around Geevs it is at its most powerful when combined with Incite editing stations. This allows Incite to carry out complex multilayer editing in real time on material that is still being captured.
Instant Editing will be shown in action on Gee Broadcast stand 7-131 at IBC in Amsterdam from September 13-17.
