A World First From Projectiondesign

News Image
A Norwegian company that designs, manufactures and markets a range of high performance projectors for professional, business and consumer applications, has launched the world’s first F35 series DLP projector featuring Texas Instruments WQXGA DLP chip.
The chip, offering a 2,560 x 1,600 pixel resolution, has been embraced by the Projectiondesign company and will receive its world premiere at I/ITSEC.
The WQXGA features 78% more pixels than WUXGA resolution (1,920 x 1,200) and offers more than five times the resolution of a standard XGA display.
The result is incredibly high pixel-density displays which require fewer projectors to produce ultra-realistic images.
"Bringing this new, ultra-high resolution imaging to market will increase efficiencies, reduce installation complexities and provide a better return on investment for users," said Anders Løkke, International Marketing & Communications Manager for Projectiondesign.
"For the same number of channels you now get more pixels. This is of great benefit in visualisation and simulation, where the emphasis is on fine detail and the accurate rendering of images."
Anders believes that I/ITSEC is the perfect venue at which to debut not just the F35, but the thinking behind the adoption of WQXGA.
He continued: "We are grateful to our key technology provider, Texas Instruments, for providing the opportunity to present the first WQXGA projector."
Commenting on the launch of the F35, Roger Carver, Manager of DLP’s Front Projector business at Texas Instruments, said: "We are delighted that Projectiondesign has deployed the WQXGA chip in a projector as innovative and as striking as the F35. This is not the first time that we have provided our technology to this innovative company to launch into the market.
"We see this introduction as a major step forward in technology and it is really satisfying to see this ultra-high resolution being exploited by Projectiondesign in such an effective and imaginative way."
The F35 will be available to the market during the second half of 2010 and Projectiondesign is now displaying the F35 to enable systems integration and end-user communities to see its potential and plan their future projects and investments accordingly.
