Compix Media At NAB 2009

Compix Media, a global provider of powerful and cost effective character generator (CG) systems and applications for the television, video, production, sports and IPTV markets, will be exhibiting at NAB 2009 in Las Vegas.
At the 2009 NAB show, Compix Media will highlight several powerful, easy-to-use character generators with unbeatable price/performance ratios. These new technology offerings reflect the company's years of experience in the CG market, across the broadcast, sports, professional, educational and government sectors and offer the possibility of working in or easily upgrading to many digital and HD formats. Compix Media CGs offer an elegant interface to sports and EAS companies with dedicated logo insertion, EAS message generation and automated template-based sports-score generation.
The new CYNERG HD is a broadcast-quality, dual-channel HD CG with unrivalled price/performance for the broadcast, sports, professional, educational and government markets. Capable of simultaneously outputting graphics in either SD-SDI or HD-SDI, Compix Media's new dual-channel CYNERG HD packs a powerful punch into a conveniently sized 4-RU chassis.
The CYNERG HD has the inherent advantage of branding multiple video streams with different overlay material from a single chassis and one easy-to-use interface. Rather than invest in two separate CG systems, users can apply the CYNERG HD to two different functions at once, saving both time and money. Additionally, because the data required to create and playback graphics can be used between CYNERG HD's two internal systems, users need only maintain one set of graphics data. Dedicated logo insertion, EAS message generation, and automated template-based sports-score generation are also features supported by the CYNERG HD.
The new 1-RU Channel Brander is a full-featured, stand-alone CG supporting automated template-based graphic generation and real-time graphics overlay of live video in SD or HD productions. With its compact footprint and rugged chassis construction, the cost-effective Channel Brander is ideal for sports venues, EAS, remote and outside broadcast, SNG/ENG and digital subchannels.
Compix Media's latest CG offering was created specifically for channel branding, dedicated logo insertion, EAS message generation and automated template-based sports-score generation. Channel Brander accepts static graphic/logo import of TGA, BMP, JPEG, GIF, PHG and TIF files, automatically converting images to and from different video resolutions as needed. Compix Media's easy-to-use GenCG software, featuring an elegant and user-friendly GUI, is integrated into Channel Brander and offers 4000 True Type fonts and 300,000 premium quality images - included at no extra cost.
Compix Media offers the Channel Brander in three models: analog (SMPTE 170M-compliant), digital SD-SDI (SMPTE 259M compliant), and HD (SMPTE 292M compliant with 720p/1080i support). The system passes all required closed-captioning, VBI, HANC, VANC, and embedded audio systems requirements.
Compix Media is expanding its HD product offerings with a powerful new line of single- and dual-channel HD ready CGs. Leveraging the performance and quality of Compix Media's flagship resolution-independent software and SD-SDI hardware, the new HD-ready models provide the immediate SD functionality required by many digital broadcasters while supporting a smooth transition to HD. A simple keycode purchase is all that is required to upgrade the HD ready systems from SD-SDI to HD.
Available in single- and dual-channel configurations, the new HD ready CGs leverage all of the same great functionality and hardware/software feature sets offered by the company's current CG offerings, while incorporating the on-board CPU and memory required to handle the pixel and data volumes demanded by HD. With this horsepower, each system is fully capable of supporting HD without any hardware upgrades.
