XOrbit Showcases New Systems At NAB 2009

XOrbit will be showcasing new captioning and signal monitoring systems at NAB 2009 in Las Vegas.
Products being demonstrated at NAB include AdSmart, the RTX Series and ProofPositive.
AdSmart makes dynamic, demographically targeted caption sponsorships possible, reducing the cost of captioning and increasing overall revenue options. Demographic settings and restrictions help refine the target audience for the advertising effort, giving advertisers the best opportunity to reach 15% or more of the overall subscriber base, representing millions of viewers in homes, bars and sports clubs.
RTX is now available in a completely resdesigned version 3.0. The new version includes XOrbit's exclusive foul language monitor WordCheck, centralised user management/authentication for large installations, and coordinated multi-language support.
The multi-language support allows stenographers to create live caption streams in up to four languages simultaneously in any part of the world. RTX blends the data together into multiple caption encoders, supporting both SD and HD video streams.
The new version also adds RTX Post, a perfect blend of remote and offline captioning, enabling remotely-based stenographers to turn around captioned content in hours, instead of days. Installed on the stenographer's local workstation, XOrbit's OmniEdit establishes a direct, secure internet connection to RTX. Using the machine control feature, the stenographer can play, pause, rewind, fast forward and stop the material just as if he or she were sitting next to the source.
Once the stenographer has completed the captioning, OmniEdit can assist in correcting errors, removing typos, and verify that the material is in compliance with FCC language regulations. When the work is complete, the stenographer simply transmits the closed captioned data to the broadcast facility where it can be used by an UltraCast caption automation system, a video tape deck, or an asset management system.
XOrbit has continued to enhance and broaden ProofPositive, a foolproof, watermark-free delivery verification network, starting with a new 3RU video signal monitor (VSM) chassis, new motherboard and CPU, new video capture technologies, and version 2.0 software.
The new VSM 2.0 unit provides engineering with audio level alerts and video-overlay alerts automatically. If any portion of the signal does not match the outgoing signal, content is flagged and notification is sent immediately to the primary user. New software features include a single interface to monitor alerts and playback clips, new full-search capability for location, zip code and type of alert, auto-filling alerts by location for tracking and archival purposes, and a "watch list" capability, so specific locations can be tagged as high priority.
