Trams Limited Announces Acquisition Of Rapid Group

Trams, a leading provider of hardware, software and networking solutions, has announced the acquisition of Rapid Group, making Trams one of the largest B2B Apple VARs in Europe.

Warren Peel, Managing Director of Trams, said: "Following our management buyout in 2003, we have been actively seeking to expand the business through new acquisitions. The acquisition of Rapid Group is a positive and significant step in our mission to provide improved value and benefits for our customers."

The acquisition will expand Trams' technical services division, making it one of the largest of its kind in the UK. With a diverse list of capabilities, the division provides services, including enhanced product specialisations, facilities management, contractual support, server install, infrastructure specifying, cross platform Active Director implementation and fast ad-hoc and warranty/out of warranty repairs.

Three of the current Rapid directors - Chris McGregor, Mike Saunders and Paul Hopkins - will be joining the Trams senior management team, with Patrick Gleeson staying for a six-month hand-over period and Garrett Doyle leaving with immediate effect to pursue other interests.
