Gefen Offers Two Methods Of Hi-Speed USB 2.0 Extensions

For short and long distance USB 2.0 extensions, Gefen offers two new solutions designed to transport multiple signals with no delays.

Both operate through small sender and receiver units located at the local and remote locations, but differ in extension methodology. Each receiver is a four-port USB hub, capable of driving four peripherals at a time.

The new wireless USB 4-Port Hub extender uses 802.11g technology to send up to four separate USB 2.0 peripherals 33.5 metres in distance with no cables required. Practical speeds of 37 Mbps enable keyboard/mouse, printer and hard drives to be connected to the computer with an active connection and no cables. This wireless extender effectively eliminates messy cabling in the workspace, allowing for a more productive and streamlined environment.

Single-mode fibre optic cables connect the new fibre optic USB 4-Port Hub extender’s sender and receiver units up to 500 metres apart. Hi-speed USB 2.0 signals are transmitted at a rapid rate up to 480 Mbps on all four extended peripherals, making it a top-notch performer for long-distance USB extension, and perfect for professional applications.
