Pinewood Studios Celebrates 70th Anniversary With A Week Of Free Films

In celebration of Pinewood Studios prestigious 70th anniversary the studio has partnered with The Times and Vue West End to hold a week of free screenings October 1-7.



Each day, one film from each of the seven decades that the studios have been in operation will be shown. Pinewood entered the film business in 1936 with its first film London Melody. Since then the studios have hosted over 700 films and hundreds of famous TV productions and commercials.

Pinewood is now part of the Pinewood Studios Group which consists of not only Pinewood, but Shepperton and Teddington Studios too. The breadth of services this collective now offers is unrivalled - with a total of 35 film sound stages, nine television studios and 16 audio post production theatres available for use.

Feature film screenings have been scheduled as follows:

  • Monday 2 October at 7pm - The Red Shoes
  • Tuesday 3 October at 7pm - Genevieve
  • Wednesday 4 October at 7pm - Carry On up the Khyber
  • Thursday 5 October at 7pm - The Spy Who Loved Me
  • Friday 6 October at 7pm - Batman
  • Saturday 7 October at 2.30pm - Interview with the Vampire
