Lumiere TV Cyprus choose Quartz to upgrade digital broadcast facility

Quartz has announced that Lumiere TV (LTV), the leading Cypriot Pay-TV broadcaster, has ordered a three-channel QMC master control system and new Xenon router for the digital upgrade of its broadcast facilities.
Scheduled to be fully commissioned for operation in early 2005, the broadcast complex will employ a number of features from the QMC range for multi-channel play-out, including logos, additional key layers and high powered DVE modules for dynamic visual effects. Upstream routing will be handled by the new signal processing Xenon router, fully populated in SDI as 128x128.
Lumiere TV Technical Director Evagoras Constantinides said: "We need to upgrade our broadcast facility to digital and prepare to handle multiple broadcast channels and streamline our operations. Quartz products offer high quality, flexibility and value for money, which will help us achieve our additional aim of increasing the efficiency of our operation."
Lumiere chose the QMC FS control panel for its master control operators. The FS panel combines a traditional layout including fader arm, with advanced LCD button technology and advanced user operations. A number of remote XY panels are used for control of router destinations.
The Quartz system will access a pool of equipment for two production studios, vision and audio control galleries, continuity suites, master control, central apparatus room, linear and non-linear editing suites, dubbing studios, graphics suites and media libraries.
