DREMEDIA REVOLUTIONISES TV PRODUCTION

DREMEDIA, the London-based broadcast software company, have announced they will license their core intelligent speech and image recognition software to broadcast vendors Autocue and Quantel.
Under the agreement, Autocue will integrate Dremedia's powerful speech and image recognition software into their Q series broadcast production content software to fully automate the shotlisting and metadata capture of news footage.
In addition, Quantel will integrate Dremedia's software into their Clipbox servers and editing packages to enable speech to be located and played to air in real time even as the original feed is still being edited.
Because Dremedia's technology drives a unique understanding of the actual content of audio and video material, they can therefore automate a broad range of manual functions associated with news production such as archive management, locating and logging of footage and increase productivity and reduce time-to-air.
Adrian Scott, Autocue's Director of Marketing, said: "It is hard to overstate the significance of this revolutionary approach to content management. With broadcasters producing so much more material these days, it is simply impossible to keep up with the necessary shotlisting and metadata capture using traditional means. If you manage media or keep media archives of any kind, you must see this."
Dremedia Chief Executive Officer, Matthew Karas, said: "These partnerships have already produced two great tools for news and this is just the start. Especially in the current economic climate, there is a compelling need for systems that can automate the manual and expensive aspects of news production - this is exactly what these partnerships will deliver."
