NELSON APPOINTED GOVERNOR OF THE NFTS

BOB Nelson, Controller of Development and Training at the BBC, has been appointed to the Board of Governors of the National Film and Television School (NFTS).
Outside the BBC, Nelson is Chairman of Skillset and is also a Director of Roffey Park Institute, an executive education centre and consulting practice. As a member of the Audio Visual Industries Training Group (AVITG), he was recently involved in the publication of the AVITG report ‘Skills for Tomorrow’s Media’. In addition, Nelson sits as a member of the national advisory panel for the YMCA.
Nelson said: “I am delighted to become a Governor of one of the world’s leading training establishments for film and television. Possessing relevant and practical skills has never been more important in our industry than it is today and it is essential that people coming into the industry have every opportunity to develop their talents. I look forward to working alongside other Board members to support the current and future work of the NFTS.”
David Elstein, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the NFTS, said: “I’m delighted that Bob Nelson is joining the Board because he brings not only a closer link with the BBC, one of our major sponsors, but also his own specific and relevant experience to the school’s work.”
Nelson's appointment the NFTS Board of Governors commenced in October 2001. (CD)
