MAJOR INVESTMENT ADDS UP AT TWO PLUS ONE

TWO Plus One, the Lower James Street post-production facility, are celebrating their third birthday with a significant investment in high-end editing and finishing equipment.
The company are to expand, adding two new suites, a Symphony and a DS HD, both acquired through Avid Premier Re-Sellers, root6.
The new High Definition Avid DS will form the centrepiece of Edit 2 and will be operational from the end of October.
Joy Hancock, Managing Director of Two Plus One, said: “Over the last year we have experienced a steady increase in demand for HD as more film and drama is shot on the format. We think it’s an appropriate time to get started. One of our regular clients, RM Associates, already works in HD for high profile recordings for opera and classical music. The switchable DS HD will give us the flexibility to accommodate this emerging format yet still allow us to use the system on standard definition projects.”
Two Plus One are also to install Avid’s Symphony Universal high-end editing and finishing system in Edit 3, enabling the facility to work with 24 frame progressive material and deliver it in a wide range of formats.
With steady growth over their first three years of operation, Two Plus One expanded into the DVD area last year with two Sonic-based authoring and encoding suites. The move proved effective and has attracted a number of new clients ranging from a variety of corporate work to high profile projects for Paramount Home Entertainment International. (CD)
