ZONE VISION APPOINT NEW CEO

ZONE Vision, the London-based thematic channel producers and distributors, have appointed Discovery Network Europe's Deputy Managing Director Dermot Shortt as CEO.
In his new position, Shortt will oversee Zone Vision's existing channel business across Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East, Africa and Latin America. He will also be responsible for the company's continued expansion into Western Europe and the UK where Zone Vision have advanced plans for the launch of a further six thematic channels. Starting in January 2002, Shortt will report directly to the President, Chris Wronski.
Shortt has been with Discovery Networks Europe (DNE) since 1996. In his position as Deputy Managing Director, his role encompassed Commercial Affairs, Ad Sales, Affiliate Sales & Marketing, Programme Sales and Events for Discovery, the world's largest provider of factual entertainment programming, currently operates nine channels throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa under its European arm, DNE.
