Litepanels Sponsors Short Film Victims

The short film Victims by producer Chris Carr from London has reached the finals of Film London's 'Best of Boroughs' competition.
The independent filmmaker only had a very limited budget for his production and so had to depend on sponsors in order to complete the project.
Litepanels, a Vitec Group brand, supported the shoot with 1x1 LED production lights.
Based on a script by Rick Hughes, it deals with the sensitive topic of domestic violence.
For the making of Victims, director Tim Berry concentrated on the protagonists' world of emotions: the film focuses on Ellen (Hattie Morahan), a local reporter, and Susan (Briana Corrigan) who is being abused by her husband Gavin.
Filming took place on the street as well as in an apartment and on a winding stairwell.
Cinematographer Maja Zamojda was confronted by the challenge of having to cope with a variety of lighting situations and narrow spatial conditions.
"Particularly when filming indoors, we worked with very limited space. The ceilings were also low. We were able to use the 1x1 lights because of their compact design.
"We hid them between different pieces of furniture. They are handy and powerful – the ideal combination. Being able to use the Litepanels with batteries was also perfect for us. Light intensity and color temperature were always consistent, regardless of whether the batteries were fully charged or not," reported Zamojda.
"I generally like having soft lighting with a natural appearance. The lighting quality of the 1x1 LED lights impressed me because we were able to capture footage with a very realistic feel.
"The illumination of 1x1 lights can be pre-cisely set using a control dial and this helps me get the result exactly as I had imagined," explains Zamojda.
"Chris Carr also declares himself satisfied: "Working with the 1x1s was very convenient for the entire team. Litepanels LED lights generate hardly any heat. This advantage was very pleasant for our actors as well as the crew," added the producer.
