Portaprompt 32" Quasar at IBC 2019

Portaprompt the UK based boutique prompting company will be showing their super large 32” Quasar Prompter at IBC 2019.

The new 32” monitor is based on the new style monitors - Premium (up to 800 Nits) and Quasars (1500 Nits) - that Portaprompt launched at IBC 2018 which offer increased connectivity for Broadcast, TV Production and Live Event / Conference applications.

The 32” uses the same common interface, has the new 270? embedded Tally Lamps and includes Composite Video and SDI inputs as standard and has an IP upgrade as and when you might wish to implement an IP prompting workflow

In addition a new, all metal, lightweight hood helps to get the on camera weight down as part of our overriding philosophy to make the lightest and brightest prompting rigs available

Miles Kingsbury, Portaprompt’s Chairman and Head of Design comments:-

“After we launched the new monitors at IBC 2018 we were approached by Avalon who for the next season of The Russel Howard Hour on Sky, that was being shot at BBC TC1, needed a larger prompter (than our existing 24”) for a 20m Reading Distance (distance from presenter to prompter)

It took us under 4 weeks to go from concept to product delivery and the feedback we have had since from a number clients has convinced us to productise and offer to the market for sale as well as rental. I think it is the brightest and largest Broadcast prompting monitor available in the market today and with a weight of under 16.5kg is acceptable to camera departments as well as the production and presentation teams

We have also had a lot of interest from the non-broadcast sector especially in the Corporate and Medical Sectors where “PowerPoint Prompting” is frequently used and an ultra hi-bright large screen is paramount”

Full details of the new display are on Portaprompt’s website (www.portaprompt,co.uk) and it will be the key feature of Portaprompt’s IBC Stand (G49 in Hall 12) where Jim, Steve or Jon can show around it
